Subsequent to the development of tasteless smoke, HIS spearheaded regulatory acceptance of tasteless smoked seafood in the U.S. This was accomplished through extensive research (at the sole expense of HIS) and the filing of a comprehensive "Pre-Market Notification" with the U.S. FDA which resulted in a determination that tasteless smoke is generally recognized as safe (GRAS). | ||
